Walk the Walk

Do you really want to look like Jesus? If so, here is how...

Tina Perry

Embark on a journey through faith as we unveil the profound impact of Jesus' love on our lives and the transformation that comes with embracing the Christian faith. Picture a retirement party where everyone dons a mask of the honoree; now, imagine that in the spiritual realm, we adopt the likeness of Jesus upon entering heaven. In this episode, we examine the gift of inheriting Jesus' attributes and how, by accepting Him as our Savior, we are cleansed and made whole before God. The complexities of love and forgiveness are laid bare, as we discuss the reward inherent in Jesus' love for us and the importance of seeking forgiveness while turning away from sin. Reflecting on the existence of evil and the need for repentance, we find comfort in Jesus' sacrifice, which paves the way for redemption beyond merely acknowledging His name.

As we contemplate eternal salvation, the choice becomes starkly clear. Accepting Christ intertwines our flawed identities with Jesus' perfect characteristics, allowing us to stand before God, bathed in grace. We explore the urgency of making this spiritual commitment now, as a delay could mean facing the eternal anguish of hell instead of the promised loving eternity with Jesus. This powerful narrative presses upon the listener the crucial decision that lies ahead: to live eternally with the evils of the world or to embrace the love and salvation offered by Jesus. Whether you're already walking in faith or searching for answers, this episode serves as an essential reminder of the hope and redemption available to all who choose to follow Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Walk the Walk. One year, where I used to work, we had a retirement party for our supervisor and everybody was given this little mask thing on a stick and when that person came in the room, everybody held that person over their face, that little sign that they had on a stick over their face, and the face on that stick was the person that we were honoring, who was retiring. So when they walked in, they saw a different person, or they saw her that face on a different person. So we were all looking like the honoree or the hostess of the day I don't know what the word is for that, but it doesn't matter. It was the fact that she walked into the room and she saw her own face on different bodies, and this made me think a little bit about what it looks like for us who believe and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When you die and you go to heaven, when you stand before God, your face is going to look like Jesus. Now, that's remarkable, because not only will you look like Jesus, you will have all of Jesus' attributes. In other words, all the love, all the good will be given to you because you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, so that when you stand before God, all of those things that we do by human nature, which are ugly and not good, will not be seen by God. I think that's remarkable that I am going to be given Jesus' portfolio. If you will, I'm going to be Jesus' profile just by the mere fact that I've accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I know I've talked to you a little bit about this whole thing that I'm working on, that Jesus loves you, but I don't that kind of fits into this little profile of Jesus. Jesus loves a lot of people that I don't, and I don't know if I can ever love them, but because I love Jesus, I get that reward. Now, it is very challenging, I believe, to make a person love someone. As a matter of fact, I think it's impossible to say to a person you have to love this person, period. You cannot make me feel love if I don't feel it. But because Jesus loves them, I get that reward.

Speaker 1:

There was a question about whether or not Jesus hates, and there are people that will say, no, it's not possible for somebody who is so full of love to hate. But I'm going to have to disagree with that, and the Bible says that Jesus hates those who hate him, who hate who he is. There are evil doers, people in this world who are so full of evil that their future home is hell, and I've heard people say well, why would God send people to hell? Well, hell's there for a reason. And there are people who will never, ever accept Jesus Christ at all, who love the evil that they do, who thrive on it, who that when they stand before God, will not have the face of Jesus but their own face, who think that their behaviors and their evil is acceptable and laugh in the face of Jesus. Jesus hates that.

Speaker 1:

These are people who are people who sin without asking for repentance. These are people that love evil, they love trouble, they're liars the list goes on who intentionally do these things without remorse, without asking for repentance, without asking for forgiveness. There are people that set out to do this with no intentions of ever changing. Now, that's kind of a challenging thing for some of us, because we find ourselves doing some things that are just not Christ-like. But it's also those of us who do things that are not Christ-like who know after like whoa, whoa, whoa, that was not what Jesus would want from me and I ask Jesus to forgive me and to turn me away from that sin. But there are people who do not care and will continue to do those things.

Speaker 1:

But I don't wanna talk about them because I'm hoping, as a listener, you are not that person and if you are, you have an opportunity because you can still hear this to repeat and turn from your sins. But I wanna talk to all of us who know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and me. He died on that cross while he was still among all of these sinners, you and me. Can you imagine yourself saying you know what? I know you're a sinner, but I'm going to go to the cross for you? I would find that very. I don't even know if I would. I don't know, I don't think I would. I would have a hard time saying you know what I'm going to do, something that I really hate doing, because I love you and you don't love me. But that cross is what gave all of us the opportunity to turn from our wicked ways and to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, Knowing that if we do not accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, that death on the cross could be applied to us, but with the understanding that after our death is hell, without accepting Jesus Christ. That is the fact, and for some people, that's a hard fact to hear.

Speaker 1:

Some people say I do good, I'm a good person. There are a lot of good people in hell because the one thing they did not do was accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Well, I don't like the rules. Some people might say well, that's the way it is. I don't know if I want to call it a rule, but I want to tell you this Without that rule, I would go to hell. I'm thankful. I am so thankful that I have that opportunity to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Speaker 1:

Now it is not just enough to say, yes, you're on, my Lord and Savior. Okay, carry on, I'm going to do what I want. I believe in you, I accepted you. That's not how it works, because Jesus says that you will need to conform to the ways of Christ. And what is wrong with that? There are people who will say, well, I'm not doing that, I'm not going to be no, jesus minion. Because, listen, if all of us were to accept the ways of Jesus Christ, we would not have the horrible sin that's going on in this world. Can you imagine all of us loving each other? That's what heaven's going to look like. We're not going to have to worry about the liars and fornicators and whatever else is going on on this earth. We're not going to worry about that. Heaven's going to be the perfect place that God wanted in the very beginning of time but could not happen because of man. But when we get into heaven, it's going to be because of Jesus, who wants us there and we want to be there.

Speaker 1:

Have you accepted Jesus into your heart? Have you? Now? I'm not asking you to just mumble the words Jesus, I accept you into my heart. La, la, la, la, bada, bing, bada, boom. I'm not asking you to bada, bing, bada, boom. I'm done.

Speaker 1:

I'm saying truly, truly, figure out who he is, because who he is is who you will be. Once you accept him Standing before God, he will see Jesus. He will see Jesus' personality attributes. He will see Jesus even though it's you standing there. He will not see you as the person that you are, but he will see you as Jesus. Wow, I can't think of anything better than that. If you haven't done it. It is time to accept Christ into your heart. You don't want to die and go to hell, because it's real and it's there. And if you look around the evil in this world and you think to yourself I would have to live with that for eternity, well, that's just hell thinking about it. But if you look at Jesus and you see the love that he gives us and you live like that in eternity, what an awesome thing. Don't miss your chance. Do it today.
