Finding Refuge in Scripture as Church Teachings Diverge
Are you navigating the complex sea of church denominations in search of the true essence of Jesus Christ's teachings? Let's journey together on "Walk the Walk," where we confront the challenges brought on by the myriad of Christian denominations, some of which may be steering believers away from the genuine teachings of the Bible. As your guide, I share my deep-seated concerns about such deviations and the undeniable significance of anchoring your faith in the undistorted Word of God. In a world filled with churches that prefer comfortable messages over unvarnished spiritual truths, we explore the monumental importance of forging a personal bond with the Divine through authentic biblical doctrines.
Embark with me as we delve into the unaltered power of the Scriptures, drawing upon the timeless wisdom of the Bible to weather life's storms. Through a reflective reading of Psalm:91, we uncover a daily source of fortitude, shielding ourselves against the deceptions ever-present in our secular society. The episode brings to light the stark choices laid before us—between the path of righteousness and the beguiling temptations of Satan. As we traverse these topics, I underscore the irrefutable truth that within the pages of Scripture, and in the embrace of a church that preaches solely from it, lies our unyielding connection to Jesus, our Savior and the beacon of salvation.
Hello and welcome to Walk the Walk. You know, have you ever looked around how many church denominations there are? It's kind of bizarre. I mean, there are so many options out there that it could be overwhelming. And for those of you who say I don't go to church because I mean, look at all these denominations and all these possibilities. Why can't everybody just get along? And I have to agree with that statement why can't we all just get along? If our focus is on Jesus Christ, why? Why do we have so many denominations? Well, I'm going to tell you why. I think we do. Man, m-a-n man.
Speaker 1:It makes me cringe when I hear somebody say oh, this denomination was founded by so-and-so man. One person gets an idea and wants everybody to have that same idea. And you know what? There are some men and I don't know if I like the word men in this sense that really have it right. And I know what you're thinking. Oh, everybody's probably thinking, tina, because it's your church. Well, I guess so, because that's where I go. But I want you to hear this I was attending a church where man decided to redefine sin.
Speaker 1:They left Christ out, or they pushed Christ out of the whole denomination. In my opinion again, this is my opinion and redefined sin. It is so bothersome to me that people fall and I'm going to use that word fall for some of these beliefs. Listen if you are not preaching from the Word of God, because if there's a denomination that may take that Word of God, tear out pages, mark out certain words and change it to their own belief. Stay far away from that. Stay far away from that. As a matter of fact, I'd rather you not go to church, stay home, read your Bible and have a relationship with God before I would want you to go into a church that is trying to feed you garbage that will send you straight to hell, and folks, there are denominations that will do that. You know why. The person that they are being led by is a liar. Now, this may make some of you be very cringy and like, oh, I can't believe she would say that, but it's the truth. How do I know? Well, listen, first of all, when you go into the church and they start deviating from their Bible or they start using words that are not biblical, stay away. If they're trying to redefine sin to make people feel good, if that's a feel good church, like it's okay. This is 2024. Things are different now. Well, I can tell you this I have not had to do a revised version of my Bible. My church has not come out and said folks, last year's Bible is gone. We've made some revisions. This is the 2024 revision. Now read, start reading it this way.
Speaker 1:If I went to a church that said that, I would definitely not go. Or there are churches that have rewritten the entire Bible according to the man who has founded them Makes no sense to me. I don't understand what creates this whole people allowing themselves to be fooled by man. Listen, the word of God is what I have. It's the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. My Bible that I read was not changed to make me feel good, because if it were, I would be like, yes, but it's not.
Speaker 1:And I really would not want to read a Bible that would conform to Tina Perry. There are some things in there that hit me hard. But do I tear the page out? Do I mark off what I don't want it to say? Absolutely not, because that's where God says you need to conform to the way that I want you to be. And for some people, that strikes a nerve in them Like, oh, I have to be like Jesus. Well, jesus is who I believe in. Jesus shows love and I know there's that campaign of love is love. And you know, come to our church. We're going to let you do whatever you want to do. We're going to let you be a sinner and we're going to say that your sin is okay, because I need you to come into the church. Oh, don't forget your wallet. Yeah, this hits home hard for me, because so many people are drinking the Kool-Aid and it's the things that it's going to affect. May not look like it's going to affect you right now, but there's going to be a day, that day when you die, there's going to be a day when he's going to look at you and say who was this person you were worshiping. I thought that was you, jesus, and I would imagine that Jesus would say well, did you read my word? Because the very things that you said were not sin are sin. Your very behavior is sinful by rejecting me in my word.
Speaker 1:It is challenging to be a Christian. I'm not going to lie. It's very challenging, especially because I'm a sinner. You're a sinner. Our children are sinners. So, instead of us trying to change us, we change the word to make us feel better Be careful. Be careful about the doors that you walk through that you call church.
Speaker 1:I know it, it's tough, but I say, when you go in there, take a look at what Bible they're using. If it's not the Bible from Jesus Christ, run. Jesus's word is the truth yesterday, today and tomorrow. If you go in there and they have some other little Bible sitting beside the word of God, run, run. That's not God's word. You have to know God's word and I think that's the problem. Too many people have no idea what's in the Bible you have to know.
Speaker 1:First and foremost, grab your Bibles and start learning about who Jesus is and what he said, what he is still saying and what he's going to say. I read my Bible year to year and I've never found it to be changing. The only thing that changes when I read my Bible from year to year is the amount of knowledge that I have about who he is. Listen, these are some trying times today. If you look around, you're going to see some weird stuff going on, but you can be grounded in the word of Jesus Christ. If you're grounded in the word of Jesus Christ, nothing can come against you.
Speaker 1:May I encourage you to read your Bible. May I encourage you to read Psalm 91 every day. Don't let man fool you, because those men are being controlled by Satan. Are you being controlled by Satan or are you being controlled by God? Hey, it's your choice and you're smart enough to figure it out. Don't let the devil shoot his arrows at you, because he knows your weaknesses, he knows what you want, he knows what makes you feel good, and sometimes you're so jaded by that that you fall into his trap. Get your Bible out, wipe the dust off and start reading. Find yourself a church that only preaches from the word of God, not the word of man, not the word of man, because Jesus is our Lord and Savior and His word is the truth.
