Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Now. I'm a Christian. Now what? So? The last time we talked about our sin and sin seems like it could be a podcast that we could do weeks and weeks and weeks on, but we're not going to. But it just talks about our sinful nature and how to overcome.

Speaker 1:

Today's question is, I heard, I was born with the desire to sin. Why, what's that all about? Yes, you're right, you were born with the desire to sin because of the sinful nature of Adam and Eve. So if you ever heard somebody say and Eve, so if you ever heard somebody say, well, I'm this way because I was born that way, well, there's a lot of truth to that, in the sense that they were born with a desire to sin. But as we spiritually mature, we need to be born again.

Speaker 1:

Now, this is like some people are like born again, especially those of us who had children and think what I have? To put this child back inside of me to be born again. That does not even sound like something that I would want to do. Savior, that you've openly accepted Christ as your Savior, that you're inviting him in, because at this point, you know, satan has control, has control over those of us or those people who do not accept Jesus Christ. So that means you reject the desires that you are feeling as a non-Christian and that you're going to follow the ways of Jesus Christ. Well, let me just tell you again you were born with this natural inclination to sin because of the nature passed down from Adam and Eve. And those of us who think you know, those of us who think you know, well, what am I to do? Where do I go? Do I go to this hospital? Well, I don't know if you go to the hospital of being born again, but maybe, starting at your church, finding a Christian who can help you through that process of becoming born again, who can help you through that process of becoming born again. At that point, when you are born again, the Holy Spirit will enter into your life and we talked about the Holy Spirit a little bit before. And the Holy Spirit is there for us, to guide us, to feel that nudging, if you will, when you are wanting to go back to the sinful nature that you had and you will, we all do, we all will feel that urge like oh, that was just so much easier to do the sins that I was doing. Matter of fact, some of you might even say it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed my sin. What's wrong with that? I enjoyed being the person that I was. There's a lot of people who have offered their testimony, who have said I did not want to give up my sin, but it was dangerous, it was hurting me. Not only was it dangerous and hurting them, it was also leading them to the path of eternal hell.

Speaker 1:

Eternal hell. Well, we talked a little bit about what eternal life is. An eternal life with jesus christ is is the epitome of christian christianity, I guess, if I could say it that way, what does that really mean? Well, when you accept, you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you are born again, that means, on the day that you close your eyes and that you are done on this earth, that your heavenly home is with Jesus Christ, eternally, forever. Not just for you know, until it's forever. But you also have to remember for those people who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, who have rejected him, who is blaspheming him, will also have an eternal life.

Speaker 1:

And that eternal life is in hell. And I don't understand I know I said this in the other podcast, how people think that hell is just a place of partying partying with all the people that you partied with here on earth, that you were sinning with that you I don't know if this is blaspheming the Lord with together, thinking that you were just having a good old time and thinking that you're going to do a continuation of that good old time in hell. Well, you will do a continuation, but it's not going to be a good old time. Imagine yourself and again, I'm just giving you possibilities, and I'm just giving you possibilities Imagining yourself in this eternal fire that cannot be quenched, that cannot be put out, that cannot be stopped, that you wake up and I don't even know if there's even any sleep, but 24-7 you are suffering because you decided not to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. That is again for an eternity, forever, never stopping. Never can you look ahead and say, when this stops, I'll. No, it won't be like that for those who are in hell. That's not where you want to be, are in hell, that's not where you want to be. That's why it's so important now to have your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:

In John 17 3,. It talks about the promise, the ultimate fulfillment of human existence with Jesus Christ, of human existence with Jesus Christ. The time to do it is now, not waiting until tomorrow, because, as some people know, tomorrow doesn't come. Some people believe that I'll just wait until I'm laying on my deathbed to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior. Not everybody gets that opportunity to lay on their deathbed to be able to take care of their last minute affairs. Accepting Jesus Christ has to be done right now, because you never know what the next minute is going to bring.

Speaker 1:

So if you're in the middle of a sinful lifestyle, it's time to get rid of that. It's time to go to the Lord and ask for forgiveness and repent Now. We know those desires have been in you for a long time. But once you're filled with that holy spirit that's what the holy spirit is for to help you to overcome those desires will we get weak absolutely?

Speaker 1:

But you have to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit within you and go to the Holy Spirit every day and ask him help me, help me, watch my mouth, the words that come out of my mouth, the feelings that I feel, how I might say I'll just do it this one more time. It can't be like that and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, he will help you through those times. But the most important thing is to know that your eternal destiny is not fire, but the love of Jesus, eternally, day in and day out, forever. This is the time, as you listen to this, this is the time to make that decision. I'm accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I'm going to overcome this sin with the help of the Holy Spirit, and I will be born again into the family of Jesus Christ. What a glorious day that will be.
