Walk the Walk

The Final Conversation

Tina Perry
Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Walk the Walk. Today's episode is going to be something a little different. It's going to be a conversation with God. On that very day called I Thought I had More Time. What if today was the day that you stood face to face with God, that you stood face to face with God. No more pretending, no more putting it off, just you and Him. And he asked you three simple questions how much time did you spend in my word? How often did you praise me when nobody was watching? And what did you do with the time I gave you? Lord? I meant to.

Speaker 1:

I was so busy. There were meetings and school drop-offs and bills, and I always planned to open my Bible, but just not today. I served in church, lord, every week. I organized events, led Bible study, cleaned the sanctuary. But I see it now, I was doing things for you, really never sat with you. I was building my business, trying to make a better life for my family.

Speaker 1:

I told myself that once I made it, I told myself that once I made it, I'd have more time for you. But more time never came. To be honest, lord, I just didn't feel like it. I'd open the Bible and feel confused, and I thought praise was only for Sunday mornings. I just didn't realize I was starving my soul, lord, I was so worried, always so worried. I thought about you, but I just didn't trust you. So I stayed busy trying to fix everything myself. I just didn't know how to let go. I thought I had more time. I thought I'd get serious about you once my life settled down and after I retired or when I got older. I just didn't expect this moment to come so soon.

Speaker 1:

God would say. I wasn't asking for perfection, I was asking for your heart. I was waiting in the quiet and you never came. Friend, if this hits home for you, it's not too late. You're still here. You still have time.

Speaker 1:

Close those apps. Turn off the noise. Open your Bible. Don't just read it, study it. If you're confused, find somebody else to help you with it. Lift your hands and praise him and whisper his name. He's waiting. He's waiting on you. Don't wait until that day when it's too late. Until that day when it's too late, when we stand before Him, we can't look back and say he doesn't want to hear that.

Speaker 1:

He wants to be able to look at you and say Well done, my good and faithful servant. Yeah, I know you didn't understand what you were reading. I knew you still worried. I knew you still worried. I knew you still felt hopeless and helpless, but you still came to me, you still talked to me and you still prayed. That's what we want to hear him say Good job, I know you tried. You weren't perfect because you couldn't be, but I am, and because you have accepted me, you get to claim my perfection. That's what we want to hear. Do it today. Open your Bible, learn His Word, praise and say His name and give Him thanks for everything he's doing in your life. Oh, it may not be perfect. You may say well, I still have this and that to contend with. We know that. He knows that, but it's how you deal with. It is what he's looking for. No-transcript.
